Every first Sunday of the month free admission for residents in Rome and in the metropolitan city area.

* Please note: According to the Municipal by-law, due to the exceptionality of the exhibition, people usually entitled to free admission must purchase a € 2,00 concessionary ticket.
However, free admission is granted to children under 6 years, groups of elementary and (lower) middle schools, to visitors with disabilities and a family member or a carer who can prove that they belong to social and health care services.

Free admission (for which a special free ticket is issued), except for the Ara Pacis exhibition space and for the Museo di Roma exhibition space, in application of the exemptions provided for by current legislation:
- to residents in the city of Rome and in the Metropolitan City on the first Sunday of each month;
- to residents in the city of Rome and in the Metropolitan City under 18;
- to residents in the city of Rome with an income below € 15,000.00, upon presentation of the certificate ISEE;
- to all children under 6 years of age;
- to EU tourist guides on production of a valid permit issued by the relevant authority;
- to EU tourist interpreters when their assistance is required alongside the guide, on production of a valid permit issued by the relevant authority;
- to members of ICOM (International Council of Museums), ICOMOS (International Council on Monument and Sites), foreign and Italian cultural institutes (such as the Lincei Academy, the Institute of Roman Studies, the Friends of the Museums of Rome, ICCROM, the Central Institute of Restoration);
- for study or research reasons, certified by Italian or foreign schools or universities, academies, research and cultural institutes, departments of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities or other offices of Rome City Administration upon submitting a specific request for authorization to the Superintendent;
- to all visitors in occasion of cultural events in Rome, organized by the City Administration or under an European directive or Ministerial initiative
- to school groups accompanied by their teachers with a list agreed by the head of the institution;
- to EU teachers and students of Architecture, Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Educational Science and degree courses in literature or literary subjects specializing in archaeological or art history in philosophy and letters faculties. Free admission is granted to students when showing a valid certificate of registration for the current academic year;
- to EU teachers and students of Fine Arts Academies or corresponding institutions. Free admission is granted to students when showing a valid certificate of registration for the current academic year;
- to Roma Pass holders, when visiting the first 2 museums and/or archaeological sites;
- to students holding a “Student Card” issued by the Provincial Board of the Students of Rome;
- to the citizens of Paris, in accordance with reciprocal agreement made when Rome and Paris were twinned;
- to prominent guests of the City of Rome Administration during special events;
- to visitors with disabilities and a family member or a carer who can prove that they belong to social and health care services ;
- to blood donors and a companion during the Summer Blood Donation Campaign, upon presenting a certificate issued by the hospital for blood donation;
- to employees of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage of the City of Rome, as well as to archaeologists, art historians and architects of the Archaeological Superintendence of Rome, the Superintendence of Monuments of Rome, Rome Museum Complex, requiring access for study or research reasons, upon presentation of their personal badge;
- to journalists upon presentation of suitable proof of professional activity;
- to to national and international groups of Institutions, Associations and Companies that organize events that take place in the city of Rome sponsored by the Administration, or that collect and distribute donations to the historical and artistic heritage of Roma Capitale requested and authorized by the Sovrintendenza Capitolina;
- group family rate - to groups formed by 1 parent with 1 or 2 children under the age of 18 years - one full price admission.
